Very interesting that many doctors there seemed unaware of the Cass Report or the walk-back by European countries of the "affirming" model, or of the current science, generally. It's important that medical doctors are informed by a coalition of feminists, LGB and other organizations so that these medical practitioners do become aware, and to make sure that they later cannot claim not to have been aware. Patients are being denied the information that they need to give fully informed consent.
Thanks again, Carol. That link to the SCOTUS site was eye-opening (never knew you could read all the submitted briefs online). Quite a change from so much of the vitriol one sees on social media. Briefs need to be as well reasoned as possible I suppose.
On a related note, an article in the Washington Post the other day mentioned the GOP spent about $50 million on ads demonizing the Biden/Harris efforts to listen to trans people (Rachel Levine, etc). Lots of tRump voters on Twitter/X bashing Dems for “OMG trans! OMG immigrants!”
Doctors aren't taught to think critically or to question treatments. For example, they hand out samples given to them by the pharmaceutical reps without questioning if they are safe and effective. I think they practice under many assumptions. The doctors who think for themselves end up practicing independently outside the system and some are censored and get their licenses unjustly removed for speaking the truth. Ironic. Should be the other way around. Should be the Richard/Rachel Levines and the Bow-Wows (Marci Bowers) who deserve to have their licenses removed AND jailed.
