Seriously Carol, thank you for all you do. Y'all ended the podcast talking about community, and you have created the kind of lesbian community I always longed for. Your podcast and discussions are really the first time I felt a part of a group of women like me.

Thank you Vera and Debbie for sharing your stories! We come from different worlds but our late-bloomer experiences are so eerily similar.

To Debbie's point, I think not so much lesbian role models would have been useful, but maybe seeing women embracing and living their sexuality, whatever it is, would help younger women/girls?

So much of girls'/women's existence as full human sexual beings is based on hiding. Secretive, away from society at large, or specifically men. Imo, this is true across many cultures, western and non-western, generally speaking.

How do we older women pass on healthy sexual awareness to younger generations without pushing any extremes? How do we as mothers teach our daughters how to embrace their innate sexuality, as well as understand the changes that come with different phases of life, including our menstrual cycles, etc? Even after possible violations, etc? I think about these things often, especially as a mom of a pre-teen.

Thank you again, all of you for sharing yourselves. This discussion was so so needed.

I believe the core issues is empowerment. Empower your girls in everything and the sexuality part will follow. Of course open and honest conversations about our bodies is also very helpful.

Yes, I second Courtney's statement! I too am a late bloomer, in more ways than one. Listening to your podcasts helps me to feel connected and less alone. I'm not a party-person, nor do I want to social justice my way through life. I consider myself quite boringly normal, living mom-life in suburbia. These podcasts are a needed breath of fresh air. Thank you!!!!
